Vergas is again the topic of a mystery novel. “The Curse of the Vergas Loony Days Talent Show” is a young adult novel based in the busy little town, and the author’s inspiration comes from personal experience.
Colorado-based author Judi Stoa visits Long Lake in Vergas during the summer months, where family visits with her nieces gave inspiration for an idea to tighten the family ties.

Young adults searching for a mystery might find Judi Stoa’s novels of interest, as they are all based in the Vergas area.
Stoa, a resident of Colorado, often visits Long Lake where her family has had a cottage since the 1980s. She decided the rich history and adventures that ensue there would be perfect fodder for developing a young-adult mystery novel.
